Fei Yi Arts Space
To Zhang Yi Fei, the word “Fei” carries a deeply personal meaning. It can be seen as a combination of “woman”(女) and “self”(己) in Chinese, symbolizing a woman meeting herself, understanding herself, and accepting herself. It is a reminder that while loving others, we should not forget ourselves; while caring for others, we should not neglect our own inner world. True love is not about loving others less, nor loving oneself more, but about finding a gentle and conscious balance between the self and others.
“Yi”(翼) means wings. It symbolizes freedom, growth, and courage. It represents the belief that everyone has their own wings. Even after being limited, hurt, or lost, each person still has the strength to open themselves again, break through limitations, and move toward a wider and fuller life.
“Space” represents a place where the heart can pause, reflect, heal, and grow. It is not a fixed boundary, but a space that holds emotions, stories, memories, creativity, and personal transformation.
Fei Yi Arts Space is not only an art space. It is a creative platform for self-exploration, emotional balance, inner freedom, and personal growth. Here, art is not only something to be viewed. It becomes a bridge — connecting people with themselves, with others, and with the world through a more honest and meaningful dialogue.
ZHANG YI FEI
To Zhang Yi Fei, art is not only about her personal story, nor is it only about the message she wishes to express. More importantly, she hopes her works can become emotional mirrors, allowing viewers to see their own memories, emotions, experiences, and inner truths within the artworks. She does not wish to tell others what they should feel. Instead, she hopes that each person, when standing before her art, can honestly hear the voice within their own heart.
Through color, form, movement, flow, and symbolic imagery, her works guide people to reconnect with themselves. Her creations carry themes of self-love, balance, acceptance, resilience, and the courage to face one’s inner emotions. Each artwork is like a quiet invitation — inviting people to pause, to feel, and to hear the most truthful voice within themselves again.
